What if architecture were vandalism? What if this colonization and/or exploitation of nature by humans were the true form of vandalism, rather than the residents' cry of resistance scrawled in spray paint and/or marker on the walls? Drawing freely on Marc Augé's* definition of "non-places," from the territories appropriated by Gordon Matta-Clark to Didier Faustino's political "mesarchitectures," "streetectures" seek to overturn the obvious by questioning what is typically labeled as vandalism or art.
